Domaine Du Somail - Le Vin De Plume Minervois (750ml)

This is a young 2nd generation traditional French peasant family domaine of 37 acres based in the heart of Minervois. The viticulture is certified biodynamic/organic by Demeter and Ecocert. This allows them to produce pure, authentic wines with elegance and finesse. This blend is 80% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah. Hand-harvested grapes ferment and age in French barrels and tank for up to 24 months. Very minimal sulfites are used. Dark-fruited and spicy, it combines notions of plum, blackberry, pepper and clove on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is sturdy yet has nice acidity and velvety tannins. Excellent texture and wonderful intensity!

Deep ruby color. Complex nose with generous aromas of ripe strawberries and red cherries, floral notes of iris and a hint of bay leaf. In the mouth, the tannins are soft and elegant, the body is supple and structured. Long finish. Enjoy with charcuterie, prepared giblets, red meat and game such as roasted lamb and wild boar.
