Chateau Leon is the second wine of Chateau Carignan, which is situated on the outskirts of the village of Carignan de Bordeaux, 6 miles to the east of Bordeaux. Farming is all organic at the estate. This is made from traditional Bordeaux varietals — Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This classically structured Bordeaux presents rich and dense fruit on the palate with firm yet supple tannins and a long blackberry finish with hints of dried herbs. Roasted lamb, duck or pork pair well.
This classically structured Bordeaux is composed primarily of Merlot, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Flavors of blackberry, dried herbs, spice and toast are supported by supple tannins and a long, fruit-forward finish.
